On the afternoon of July 9th, the grand opening ceremony of DUT’s 12th Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which was the attention focus of all students and teachers, was held in the auditorium of International Conference Centre.The main tasks of this conference include: to comprehensively implement the spirit of 17th National Congress of the CPC, to highly hold the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, to take Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thinking of Three Represents as the guideline, to study and practise the scientific concept of development, to summarize the past work which has been done since DUT’s 11th Congress of CPC, to clarify the conception of development and goals in the next 5 years, to elect the 12th committee of DUT’s CPC and its Commission for Discipline Inspection, to further mobilize all the comunist party members, students, teachers and staff to emancipate mind, unify understanding, plan development, and to work hard to achieve the construction goal of an internationally renowned high-level research university.
Leaders such as Tang Jun, Member of CPC Liaoning Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and minister of Organization Department of Provincial Committee, Li Jingrui,deputy secretary of Dalian Municipal CPC Committee and secretary of the University Work Committee of Municipal CPC Committee, and Li Shusen, secretary of the University Work Committee of Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and deputy executive director of Provincial Education Office, attended the conference. The members of the chairman delegation of DUT’s 12th Congress of CPC seated at the rostrum were Zhang Dexiang, Ou Jinping, Lin Anxi, Kong Xianjing, Jiang Dexue, Xue Guang, Zou Jiyan, Lu Zhongchang, Li Zhiyi.
The conference was hosted by Ou Jinping. The Organization Department of CPC Central Committee, CPC party group of the Ministry of Education, Tsinghua University, Peking University and party committee of more than 60 brother universities sent congratulatory letters.
In the conference, Tang Jun, on behalf of Provincial CPC Committee and Government, congratulated on the successful opening of DUT’s 12th Congress of CPC and extended his hopes on the upcoming new leadership.
Li Jingrui, on behalf of Municipal CPC Committee and Government, also warmly congratulated on the successful opening of DUT’s 12th Congress of CPC and sincerely greeted all the delegates, party members and staff in DUT who attended the meeting. He hoped that DUT could play a leading role model for all the universities in Dalian and Liaoning Province and truly become an internationally renowned high-level research university.
Zhang Dexiang, on behalf of the committee of DUT’s 11th Congress of CPC, gave a report with the title of “Reform, Innovate, Develop Scientifically and work hard to construct an internationally renowned high-level research university ”.
The conference then announced to issue written reports on the work of the Commission for Discipline Inspection and requested delegates to review them.
